Gordon Lightfoot Tribute Artist

Eric Elison always enjoyed and admired the voice and songs of Gordon Lightfoot.  In college he was frequently asked to play Gordon Lightfoot’s songs. He was told he “sounds just like Gordon Lightfoot.” In 2016, after playing a showcase event at the Folk Alliance Regional Midwest, he was told by a famous contemporary of Gordon Lightfoot’s that he was “channeling Gordy.”  After recording an album of original music in Nashville, Eric’s Producer, Tom Manche of Studio X, advised Eric that he sounded so much like Gordon Lightfoot, that he should consider performing Gordon Lightfoot Tribute Concerts.

Today, Eric is emerging as a Gordon Lightfoot Tribute Artist.  Eric has mastered Lightfoot’s hits including “Carefree Highway, Rainy Day People, If You Could Read My Mind, Sundown, Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and Beautiful.  His mission is to ensure that Gordon Lightfoot’s Fans are able to hear Lightfoot’s songs the way Gordon sang them in his prime. He is also eager to introduce Gordon Lightfoot to younger audiences so that they too can come to appreciate the Legacy of Gordon Lightfoot’s Hall of Fame Career. Colorado Singer Songwriter

Eric was on a Southwest Airlines Flight from Milwaukee to Seattle, when he stopped in Denver to change planes. The rest is history. Eric stopped at the Timberline Steaks and Grille for a quick bite to eat. He took one look out the picture windows of the restaurant,  and began writing one of his most popular songs, Came Home to Colorado. Today, he lives, writes and performs in Colorado and has found no end to the inspiration that other song writers including John Denver, and Chuck Pyle used to write their hits.
